The use of Web 2.0 tools lets teachers be much more than passive users of the internet – it allows them to be active web creators. Through placing their products online, using web 2.0 tools, teachers and students ensure quality cooperation in teaching, analysing and commenting each other’s products, thereby strengthening their social competencies, in addition to digital ones
Web 2.0 tools have an open source interface; they are user-friendly and provide the option of multimedia transfer (upload/download). They are usually used in order to supplement traditional teaching, and when the teaching unfolds in an online environment, they take a great load when it comes to engaging the students, and they are often the only way to realise the desired outcomes.
